M.A. to M.F.A. in Creative Writing

Graduate scholarships available for eligible students

30-credit program with concentrations in Creative Writing, Literature, or Rhetoric and Writing

Acquire skills that are applicable to a variety of fields and prepare for careers in collegiate-level teaching, writing center administration, publishing, business research and writing, or advanced Ph.D. and M.L.S. study.

Work one-on-one with faculty on an original thesis or manuscript and have the option to share research and writing at program symposia, regional conferences, or through publication.

Full-residency, 48-credit M.A./M.F.A. dual degree program in Creative Writing

After completing the M.A. in English with a Creative Writing concentration, immerse yourself in an additional 18 credits of intensive creative writing study that includes the completion of a book-length Creative Thesis. 

Program graduates will be well-versed in interview techniques, preparing publication submissions, and drafting grant applications, as well as writing query letters and project proposals.
